What I liked
After a recent fall, our GP referred my wife, who is 76, for an X ray. On arriving at the X ray department on Monday 10th Oct with the GP's referral form, my wife was seen within about 15 minutes. The lady then said that she would take my wife to A & E. After about 30 minutes my wife saw the A & E consultant who showed her the X ray and said that there was a crack in her pelvis. He said that it would heal naturally, but he would refer her to the fracture clinic. Before we left A & E a lady gave my wife an appointement letter for the fracture clinic for Thursday 13th. We attended a clinic on the 13th and my wife went into see a Consultant five minutes before her scheduled appointment time. The Consultant showed us her X ray and pointed out two small cracks in her pelvis. He confirmed that the fractures would heal natuarally and gave my wife further advice on how much walking etc she should undertake and also confirmed that she should just take the painkillers which had been prescribed by A & E. We were both extremely impressed by the treatment and care that my wife received and would congratulate all concerned on their professionalism and caring attitude.
What could be improved
Nothing
"Highly professional and caring"
