About: Friarage Hospital Site

What I liked

I needed a total hip replacement. I was fully informed through pre-assessment of the procedure and what to expect during my in-patient stay which was to be short as I was to be on the enhanced recovery programme

I was admitted to Gara ward where I was greeted with a smile. The ward was clean and tidy and all the staff polite and friendly.

The medics, nurses, aneasthetists, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and pharmacist all worked together to provide a smooth pathway of care. They ensured that at all times I was happy with the procedures to be undertaken and their cheerful manner coupled with professionalism gave me confidence and helped me to feel safe.

Within48 hours I was home and mobile.

What could be improved

Nothing

Anything else?

Just six weeks on and I am out with my rambling group and back to folk dancing with no pain and full mobility thanks to the skill of the Friarage team.
