About: Kettering General Hospital

What I liked

My 13 year old son was referred to A&E at Kettering General Hospital yesterday afternoon by our practice nurse after injuring his hand playing football. He was booked in, triaged, x-rayed and treated in 2 hours in a very busy department. I was most impressed by how well his pathway was communicated between professionals and also by the way they treated him with respect and kindness.

Many thanks to all those staff with whom we came in contact.

What could be improved

As we left the A&E was becoming very, very busy. There were not enough seats to accomodate everyone so the Trust may wish to look at seating provision.

Thank you so much for your positive comments, they are greatly appreciated and have been shared with the team who cared for your son. The A&E team endeavor to create an efficient and pleasant experience for all their patients. As a team we do all that we can to alleviate any anxiety and try to treat our patients in a timely manner. Once again thank you for your kind words and we wish your son well for a continued and speedy recovery.

We recognise that in times of extreme pressure seating does become tight especially if people are accompanied by friends or relatives. We are currently looking at options to address this.
