"An outstanding level of clinical and emotional..."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

What I liked

This weekend the hospital saved my daughters life by responding very quickly to a burst appendix. Every member of staff was superb, from auxilliaries, porters, nurses, doctors, anaesthatists and surgeons. Everybody went the extra mile and showed outstanding care. The surgeon even popped in over the weekend to see how my daughter was.

The hospital was clean, there were lots of toys, the food was good (not that she was hungry) and we were as cared for as her parents as she was. It is easy to tell when somebody is just doing a good job and when they really care. The staff on F3 really care.

What could be improved

The car parking is ridiculously expensive. I must have gone through thirty quid this week.

Response from Royal Oldham Hospital

Dear Rob,

Thank-you for your feedback and we hope your daughter is on the way to a good recovery.

We are delighted to read your positive comments and that you have taken the time to share your thoughts with us. We will forward your message to the ward sister on F3 for her to share with the rest of the team.

In regard to car parking, the management team in the Trust’s Facilities Dept are aware of public concerns regarding this issue and are currently reviewing parking arrangements across the Trust.
