What I liked

Nothing due to cancellation of my appointment at five minutes notice as I was endeavouring to park in the hospital car park (approx 50 + other cars trying to do the same thing in the already over full car parks,,,,,,,,,Not good)

What could be improved

Having set out in plenty of time and travelled 20 miles for my appointment, which entailed taking an afternoon off, unpaid from my job, and travelling at my expense to a hospital with woefully inadequate parking facilities. Having found a parking space,,,,just,, on checking my phone I found a message timed 5 minutes before my due appointment, advising me that due to an emergency my appointment was cancelled.

One asks what of the rest of the cast of this department,, the 4 other consultants and others. Was it not beyond the bounds of intelligent thought that I could have been referred to some one else to save wasting my time and my hard won earnings. When an emergency occurs is there not a back up plan for this very eventuallity,,,. Strange to think that in this day and age the RD & E, a top hospital according to the hospital web site claims?, has not got a better grip of this kind of sittuation. How many people have travelled distance to attend appointments to find that on arrival or shortly before, their trip has been for nothing..... This is nothing less than very shabby treatment and the department should hang its collective head in shame for failure and pure lack of thought and also cavalier high handed bad manners,,,,,.
