"Booked into the wrong surgery"

About: Devon Access and Referral Team (DART) Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had a pain in the side of my stomach. I went to see my GP about it who referred me to hospital. I was booked in for surgery for yesterday but 2 days ago I received a letter saying my appointment had been cancelled as they had booked me into the wrong surgery. I am in a lot of pain and now have to wait another month before being treated. I thought that the most you had to wait for an urgent referral was 2 weeks?
