"Terrible experiences"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

(as the patient),

I have been to this hospital on a few occasions and each time has been a terrible experience for me.

In A&E I felt they ignored the fact that I was crying in agonising pain and each time they've taken the minimum of an hour to give you me pain relief. On two occassions when i have been admitted in a&e its taken them 12 hours to move me to a ward.

Once on a ward after pressing my nurse bell it has taken atleast half an hour for anyone to come and see why you are ringing the nurse bell. If it was for asking for pain relief it has then sometimes taken upto an hour before they brought it to me. I felt like the staff passed alot of judgement of my past medical history. I found the majority of the staff I encountered not friendly at all and it felt to me that by asking them for anything I was considered a pain.

As for the cleanliness of the hospital I felt the parts of it that I saw were absolutley disgusting. Its dusty and to me it does not smell like the clean hospital smell should smell. I picked up a urine infection whilst being an inpatient and I wonder if it was because of the standards of hygiene.

I also witnessed other inpatients in dirty wet beds for long periods of time and also some people covered in sick for long periods of time. I feel they do not listen to what you are saying and I have experienced being discharged without a diagnosis. They told me i did not have an infection when i clearly did. NOT all infections raise your temperature.

I never wish to have to be admitted to this hospital again
