"A first class experience which would be..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

What I liked

The care I received throughout was fantastic, from my first appointment through to the operation. Everything was explained to me in detail, and if I didnt understand some of the medical terms used, the doctor was happy to explain it to me so that I did understand.

In the past I have had operations at other hospitals, and had bad experiences with the anaesthetic being administered, the anaesthatist at the William Harvey was fantastic, they put me completely at ease, usually I get a huge adrenaline rush when I get down to theatre but I didnt this time and for the first time I felt no pain when the anaesthetic was administered.

I hope that my thanks and appreciation reaches all the staff that helped in my care before and after the operation, the nurses were fantastic on Kennington Ward was really thoughtful, and made my porridge for me each morning, they were also really kind and understanding,

I highly recommend anyone considering a hysterectomy to see the doctor, I suffered for 10 years with pain and their skills have changed my quality of life. Thank you again to all the staff for taking such good care of me, my operation was over a Bank Holiday period and they really were rushed off their feet, but this did not impact on my care one bit.

What could be improved

Nothing that I can think of could be improved, I was very happy all round with the care and attention that I received throughout my stay at the William Harvey Hospital.AppointmentsHysterectomySurgeryAttentiveConsiderateKindPatient careWardAnaestheticsDoctorsNursing staff
