"Two months wait for ENT appointment"

I'm 33 years old and live in East London, Over a month ago I woke up deaf in my right ear. I had/have a bad cough and congestion I figured it must be related to that, however over 1 month later I am still deaf and the cough remains. I went to doctor and he say's my ears are clear of wax so I need the attend ENT clinic at local hospital. When I rang the choose and book line, they informed me the earlest appointment is in Feb 2011. This means I have another two months of deafness with no investigation. I can't even sleep through worry since I saw online that sudden deafness could be for many reasons, one including tumour. I am in total shock that there is so sense of urgency
