"Broomfield seems to have not enough staff"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was first taken into Broomfield in march 2010 with pains.

After two days was told I had stones in my glalbadder and it would have to be removed. I have now been waiting for best part of six months in which time have had to have many days off work without pay.

I went back in this week and was told I would be given a date but when the next doctor came round I was called almost a liar and that would never have been said.

The system at this hospital seems a crazy mess to me. I was told I could go. I walked out of that hospital in a high level of pain. No-one asked how I was getting back. I had been in the hospital for three days and had been on morphine for most of this time.

I got into my car and drove home. The nurses do try their best, but are always so little staff there is very little care and time for any people on the wards. I was asking for pain killers and it would take at least half a hour to get, and when in a high amount of pain that feels a lifetime.
