Entered Manchester Royal Infirmary on 12 April 2017,quadruple by-pass on 13th.
Transferred to CICU which I could not fault. All nursing staff professional and caring.
On the evening's of the 14th, 15th and 16th the outside temperature dropped dramatically, and, as the heating system was faulty it blew cold air creating extremely cold conditions inside.
At around 1am I suggested to a nurse that more blankets would be required, I was already wearing my dressing gown. The nurses said they were cold as well and that complaints had gone in several times, with no response.
I spoke to nurses during the day who also complained of the cold.
The CICU is a showpiece. It's a shame that the overpaid directors and top managers did not think to employ contractors who could provide a reasonably reliable heating system.
The nursing staff should not be expected to care for patients whose recovery is dependent on staying warm.
Please help these girls and guys to do their jobs.
