"Carers still not being told information on relative."

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a parent/guardian),

I feel like I am in a vicious circle and banging my head on brick wall. 3 years on still feel outside looking in when it comes to my loved one. As someone who really cares for that person its heartbreaking. I ring most days and go and visit as much I can. So very involved in their care. I know staff have a lot to do and not enough hours in day. But if something changes or happens, family should be the main priority and told especially as I very involved with my relative's care. In my job role I would always inform family or Carers as a priority. Please can staff maybe just step in our shoes imagine it was there loved one.

Dear positve,

Im so sorry to hear you are having such a frustrating time trying to support your relative in hospital, as a Trust we do aspire to involve family and carers in their loved ones care. I would like to understand more about your situation so I can ascertain what can be done to improve your experiance as a carer. Unfortunately your post doesn't say which service is looking after your relative. If you could to contact me via email or phone number below to discuss that would be wonderful, alternatively you could post more details so the relevant manager could respond.

Kind Regards

Jo

Dear Positive,

I have also read your concerns above and appreciate that you have mentioned making contact with Jo Horsley. My role with carers overarches Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist services and I would be more than happy to make enquiries regarding your concern should yourself and Jo find this would be helpful.

Kind regards,
