"Fantastic help and support from Ealing IAPT service"

About: Ealing IAPT

(as the patient),

I was going through quite a tramatic time. I nearly lost my son, I was TUPED across to a new company who were very unsympathetic, and unbeknown to me until recently I was going through early stages of menopause.

Coming from a very well paid job, to then having to survive on less than the average benefits due to the incompetence of departments not sharing the correct information, I could not cope! Everyone has their limit.

I struggled and Karen was fantastic at Ealing IAPT service! Her calm and relaxed sessions enabled me to focus and understand what I was experiencing  was not unusual under the circumstances.

Sharing techniques and methods on how to cope. Even supporting me with an overview letter which highlighted the support I needed for my disabled son.

Since then I have shared my methods of relaxing in the day, even if for only 30mins - hour. I relax on my bed with everything switched off to recharge my batteries. I would definitely recommend their service.

Dear IAMP

We are very grateful that you took the time to post about your experience with Ealing IAPT on Patient Opinion. You have clearly been through some difficult times which sound, at the very least, challenging. Given the circumstances, your reaction certainly does not sound unusual, indeed they would have no doubt driven many to "the limit" as you describe. Karen will be so pleased to hear that she was able to help you to focus and look at coping techniques that have enabled you to get through very tough times. Hearing back from people who have used the service is very rewarding and motivating for our staff and I know that Karen will especially appreciate seeing your feedback in writing.

Great to hear that you have continued to take time out for yourself and practise the relaxation, I hope that you keep up the good work and once again, many many thanks for letting us know how you got on.

With best wishes

Dr Louise De Haro
Deputy Clinical Lead Ealing IAPT
