"Tired and run down Hospital"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

Along with my husband we have had the misfortune to have to visit several hospitals as out patients recently. Royal London, Southend, Broomfield and Basildon Essex

Basildon appeared to be the most inefficient, when we arrived the waiting time was a very acceptable 15 - 30 minutes, but as we waited this steadily increased. Eventually we was seen 2 1/2 hours late.

The appointment was a follow up from a CT scan and I saw the doctor (who was lovely) for maximum of 3 minutes who informed me that everything was ok.

Surely to save the NHS money and to have free'd up this appointment I could have been informed by text or email as no vist to the hospital was required.

We were told by a nurse that only 10 minutes per patient was being allowed , and this was to include consultation, procedures if required, and admin. This is ridiculous!
