"Blood Test Dept."

About: Solihull Hospital / Clinical haematology

Today (29.3.17) I visited the hospital for a blood test.

I have had a fear of needles (and hospitals) since a child.

I usually faint, I become extremely anxious, if I could I would avoid the situation.

It is all very traumatic for me.

I would prefer to go to my GP for a blood test as they know exactly what I'm like and I find it easier to cope and in addition I am also able to lie down when actually having the test.

However, I really needed to get this sorted asap so went along very early to Solihull Hospital.

I informed the member of staff of my phobia, who was very reassuring and supportive of my problem.

What a star, I skipped out of that department, not feeling in the least unwell or faint, such a relief.

I cannot tell you. Thank you so much.

Dear Patient,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your posting.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your treatment at Solihull Hospital.

It is lovely to read such positive comments and I am very pleased that you had such a good patient experience, especially as you have a phobia to needles.

I shall forward your posting to the senior team and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

Best wishes

Jenny Langham

Patient Services Officer
