"your friendly caring nature certainly made me feel better"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Critical Care Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Respiratory Medicine (Breathing and Lung Problems) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

following broken ankle developed large clot on lung, cannot fault the quick response of my local GP surgery, ambulance service which resulted in fast admission to assessment ward, the 2 doctors I saw were caring it was a scary few hours was admitted to HDU where Sophie looked after me and reassured as to what was happening, I saw 4 doctors on this ward who were brilliant caring and friendly this made me feel better altho I was on a long road, after 3 days and heart scan they said I could go to ward 107 for few days before going home, these guys all explained everything that was happening in language I could understand with smiles and caring nature. when I commented on this 1 said its our job, yes its your job, but your attitude and friendly caring nature certainly made me feel better. Off to ward 107 was exactly the same Mr Dempsey and his team again explained what was going on very nice guy sure he will remembered the cherry picker.

Thank you all for your dedication.

Hi, thank you for highlighting the care you received during your recent escalation of your medical condition. This must indeed have been a worrying time for you. I am pleased to hear of the reassuring and comforting care you have had during your experience from attending the GP, the attendance of ambulance crew to provide care and transport, to the medical and nursing care in hospital.

I would very much like to pass on your feedback to the attending ambulance crew. Would you be able to call our admin team on 01224 812200 in order to pass on some further details so we can identify the crew who attended to you?

I hope you have made a full recovery and keeping in good health.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch and sharing your experience wth us!

Take care,

Euan..

Dear grant159

Many thanks for taking the time to detail your gratitude to all the teams involved in your care. We always strive to deliver person centred care and ensure patients are kept informed of their care and treatment.

I will ensure your kind comments are shared with the teams in HDU and ward 107 and in particular Sophie and Dr Dempsey.

Hoping you are making a full recovery now that you are at home

Take Care

With kind regards

Fiona Robertson Chief Nurse
