My Mother who is 90 went to King Georges from Queens Hospital.
Mum had broken both wrists and one of her hips.
She was only in King Georges for four nights, On the Monday night, Mum needed the loo, now as she cannot get out of bed, she managed to press her buzzer, a bank nurse came to her after twenty minutes, Mum asked for the loo, the nurse brought a bed pan, then walked away with the bedpan in her hand!!!!
Unfortunately Mum had an accident in the bed but was left all night in a soaking wet bed.
This caused Mum so much distress and discomfort.
this was totally unacceptable, and Mum was told to make a complaint.
When the day staff came on duty, a very lovely nurse came into Mum, who was by now crying.
This nurse took Mum in the shower and showered her, for which I am truly grateful.
I do not think the Bank nurse should be allowed to call herself a nurse, I and my Sister are both very angry for all the distress caused to our dear Mum.
We hope this can be looked into and any repercussions be made to the bank nurse involved.
"Dignity and respect"
