"Someone was fighting my corner"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I visited A & E due to abdo pain. I suspect I am pregnant but my blood test results were negative. This happened 11 years ago also when I was sent home from A & E after being told I was not pregnant, then tested positive two weeks later and was treated for Hyperemesis!

The difference this time was the doctor  actually listened to my concerns and fought very hard for me to be seen by a Gynae doctor (as initially they were dismissive of my concerns).

It was so refreshing to feel someone was fighting my corner and listening to my symptoms, whether or not they fitted into the scientific box! Both he and the Gynae doctor were absolutely wonderful and I am still awaiting pregnancy confirmation as my symptoms are still very present.

The hospital gets a bad press sometimes but my experience was second-to-none!

Dear Proud of Pilgrim

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I was very pleased to hear that you had the reassurance and support that you clearly needed in the A&E department.

We wish you all the best for the future. Thank you for your kind words and support.

Kindest Regards

Rachelle Cryan
