"Emergency admission"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Urology

Was admitted on a Wednesday morning in rush hour with water retention. The ambulance staff were first class. Arrived at A&E and was processed in about 20 minutes. and my problem was relieved. I then had a surprise when they told me I was to be admitted. This was the only failing which I expected. A wait for a bed of six hours .However as I now had a catheter on was no great problem other than being stuck in a waiting room along with about half a dozen others. Eventually I was given a bed in assessment ward. From that moment on nothing but praise for everyone from the cleaner to the consult. No complaints what so ever. The staff were at it for the five nights I was in none stop. On discharge day the help and information was brilliant. Ten days after I was home a nurse came to my home to remove catheter first thing in the morning and returned in the late afternoon to check every thing was working properly and give me a bladder scan. As this was clear.they then discharged me from hospital care with all the information to contact them if I had any further problems. I will admit whilst in hospital I didn't sleep but that was just not being in my own bed and there always things going on. Thank you staff at Russell's Hall. You are all overworked and underpaid. Thank you. Graham Sinnrtt.
