"excellent clinical care, but poor accommodation"

About: Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital

I recently underwent a hip replacement op at this hospital. I could not fault the clinical care received from Consultant , nursing staff and physio team, but oh dear, the accommodation was poor. A dark very dingy room well overdue for refurbishment. A television that did not work, a tiny cupboard for clothing containing 2 hangers and a small

shelf, hardly room for a small travelling case.. The bathroom was cleaned every day but whilst I was there... 3 days.. although the bin was emptied, no one swept or mopped the room. I also thought the food was not particularly good, and always arrived lukewarm altogether very disappointing. I would not return here for in patient care.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback about the clinical care received.

We have recently started a £10.2M refurbishment of the hospital, which includes all the single bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. We have also recruited a new catering manager who has taken you feedback on board and has implemented a number of process changes to ensure that our food is of the highest quality for our patients

Kind Regards,

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital
