"Dignified and personal"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My wife was admitted to your hospital by ambulance in mid February this year with severe chest infection, she was transferred to ward A31 where she was diagnosed after various tests and scans with lung cancer. She died 12 days later and I can honestly say that I have never in my life met a more dedicated team of professional and caring doctors and nursing staff who made my wife's last few days dignified and personal. I can never thank these people enough and I have nothing but praise for your hospital and staff in these days when maybe people are far too concerned with negatives.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANKS.

Thanks so much for your response it's lovely to know that you guys have taken the time to get back to me. You have a wonderful team of dedicated professionals. My wife's funeral is tomorrow and as you can imagine we are hurting but I will never forget how you helped us at this time and I will not have a bad word said about your hospital or your staff.

Thank you so much for your very kind feedback regarding your wife's care in A31.

As Rosario has said, the staff will really appreciate it.

Providing excellent end of life care is an absolute priority for all staff within our organisation and we only get one chance to get it right for patients and those important to them. It is a privilege to care for people when they are dying.

Kindest Regards

Sandra Campbell Consultant Nurse Cancer and Palliative Care
