I had an appointment time of 4.15pm. I am very much aware that it was on a Sunday and was very appreciative that I was able to get an appointment as they are in high demand. I also expected that I would not be seen on time and would have to wait longer. When I arrived I was told there was an hours wait from my allocated appointment time. I said ok and sat down... An hour and a half passed and then I noticed that people who aarribed after after me started to be seen. I assumed they were calling people in in order of priority.. I did check after two hours had passed and it was clear they had forgotten about me! The receptionist stubbled and pulled an awkward face when checking their computer and paperwork when I was checking with them, they just said ' oh I'm sure you will be seen next' two and half hours then passed and no one had been taken in in at least for half an hour. I think a change over of staff was happening. In the end I saw a lovely GP who did apologise as did the receptionist when I came out. I am not one to normally complain but when you are in a lot of pin and discomfort and I excepted I would have to wait but I waited two and a half hours after my appointment time because it was clear I had been forgotten about!
At least 4 people who arrived after me were seen before me and then I got caught up with change over of staff which delayed it even more! Again they were lovely staff and I did receive an apology but I was in such pain! Again I am very aware that the hospitals are pushed and I did expect to wait and was happy to wait, but not because I had been forgotten!
"I had to wait two and a half ours as I was..."
