"Surgery and after care for endrometosis"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

After a long journey and a previous involvement with PALS getting involved due to long waiting list for my surgery 1 year I would like to give the extremely positive feedback too.

I had endrometosis surgery on Monday 20th Feb 2017 I was the last on the list so was a long wait but I didn't mind as I kept everything crossed it wouldn't be cancelled. I had my surgery about 15:30pm and had many consultants, nurses, anaesthetist due to the surgery being quite late and the consultants had already been working tirelessly from around 8am. They kept me informed at all times why they were present and the process.

I took time to recover from the anaesthetic and was cared for extremely well in recovery. I was transferred to Eden ward and all the staff were very caring I had issues with blood pressure and they monitored every hour through the night even though lots of the patients were elderly and some with dementia requesting assistance constantly throughout the night at times the bell was buzzed every 10 mins for 1 patient. At no time did the nurses loose there patients and gave the care required even though this was repetitive.

I was looked after extremely well and was treated with dignity, care and respect and I know I had to follow up when there was an issue about waiting list as I was in extreme pain but I also felt it was important to give praise where it is due and from my experience this week I am extremely grateful for our NHS and the care I received.

Thank you to everyone
