"Good service generally - Awful counselling from..."

About: Trent Pts

I myself have had counselling through this service as well as knowing other who have - most do provide wonderful support and counselling. However, my partner was recIrving counselling from a member of staff who we've known to be some sort of manager/team leader. Not only did the member of staff unprofessionally give out their personal opinions and strange stories rather than an objective view and proper counselling but my partner was also dismissed from the service, meaning he then had to reapply and be put back in the waiting list. The member of staff did this because my partner needed an abulance during a session, he has recurring heart problems but instead of listening to this the ember of staff decided to come to their own conclusion that my partner had taken an overdose of antidepressants (later confirmed by the doctors at the hospital that it was his heart, no overdose what so ever) but the member of staff had already been discharged from the entire pts service. It was noted on the paperwork that the reason for this was that the member of staff had wrongly stated that an overdose was taken, leaving us with the only conclusion/belief that the member of staff could not be bothered with this case. Genuinely very disappointed to have such bad service from a manager/leader when all that was required was support. My partner was left feeling abandoned instead, not what you need when already in a vulnerable state. Disgusted to be honest.

Would highly recommend seeing any other counsellor in trent pts.

Hello, I am very concerned at your partners experience that you have described, this reported event falls well short of the standard we expect of all our clinicians, team leader or otherwise. Can I invite your partner and yourself to contact me to arrange a meeting so we can discuss this and look at how we can possibly still be of service to your partner?

I would also like to discuss in further detail the experienced event so I can investigate further and take the appropriate action.

Thank you.
