After severe intermittent pain in my left eye, nausea and dizziness I was diagnosed with papillodema, sixth nerve palsy and Normal pressure IIH in July 2016. In August 2016 after lots of tests I was also diagnosed with Esophoria, anismetropia hypermytropia, raised optic discs in both eyes, optic disc drusen in both eyes and a reduced pattern ERG in my left eye with deteriorating visual fields at Harrogate District Hospital.
Today I went to the Lancaster clinic, referred by my gp as I've relocated and the pain in my left eye and my vision is getting worse. The consultant, had no idea about my history and told me they couldn't find any problems other than dry eyes and gave me a prescription for some aqueous eye drops. They also told me they didn't know about my medical history as my records were missing and I had to take some responsibility as I'd moved house. I had copies of my reports, if they'd have been slightly interested. I would never be able to remember half of those conditions otherwise!!! I was frightened as I've been feeling so ill and they were just plain arrogant and rude. Maybe if I was a private patient, I would have been treated with something other than total indifference.
