"The worst child birth experience"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Maternity

I had my first son at this hospital and it was an acceptable experience aside from a few midwives who should find another occupation. Most staff members were pleasant and the doctors, although not overly friendly, were acceptable.

Recently having my second son in February 2017, the experience was horrible. The midwives in the delivery suite all need attitude adjustments. They aren't gentle when examining you. They are rude and move extremely slowly-even though you are literally having a child come out of you. I understand the staffing may be short, but this should be one of the best experiences In a woman's life... giving birth to her child- not at this hospital. The doctors on the floor doing rounds were fantastic. The midwives are horrific. The person who delivered my child was horrible. In fact they had been horrible to me a few months prior in the hallway, and when I saw it was this person delivering my child, along with only one other member of staff, I was horrified.

Not only was that midwife rude, when I went into the suite to deliver, they basically told me to suck it up and not "whine"... there was also someone else's blood all over the ''clean" bed I was about to give birth in.

The aftercare was fine. Again, some of the staff who work in this this department have absolutely no business there.

The communication in this department is horrific. I honestly can't think of one positive thing that came out of my two child birth experiences at this hospital, aside from my beautiful children. If we have another child, there is no chance we would use this hospital even though we live a mile from it.

I would never set foot in this place again, and all follow up consultations will be elsewhere.

I cannot stress how horrible the person who delivered my child was, and if someone reads this and would like their name I would be happy to give it to them.
