My grandmother was recently admitted to E58 following emergency care in A&E for a stroke. Although A&E was unbelievably busy, she received excellent, friendly, professional care without delay and we couldn't have asked for better
Yes, there was a long wait for a bed on the ward but she was kept comfortable during her wait and was regularly updated on what was happening.
Her stay on E58 was first class. The friendly domestic kept her room spotlessly clean and provided endless cups of tea! The nurses, HCAs, physios, OTs, doctors and specialist nurses all seemed personally invested in her recovery and were genuinely happy for her when she recovered quicker than expected - this speedy recovery was entirely down to their care. When it became apparent that her rehabilitation would be better carried out at home, this happened very quickly - aids were taken to her home straight away and she was fully briefed on what to expect before being discharged. She is being visited at home by members of the same excellent team and they are helping her get back to normal.
Well done SRH, your staff are worth their weight in gold!
