"Inspirational people doing an exceptional job"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Accident and emergency

Sadly we lost our Grandad this weekend, he was admitted to the Royal Oldham on Friday following a fall. He was taken by ambulance, unconscious and less than 25 degrees in temperature. He was treated on the acute admissions ward, where they managed to increase his temperature and regain his consciousness enough for us to spend time with him and say our good byes. The team on the ward were incredible, from the consultants to the cleaners. The hospital is spotless, and the whole time our family and my grandad were treated with so much dignity and genuine kindness. It was very humbling to see how hard the nurses and carers work and how much of a difference they were making to the patients in their care. They are truly inspirational people who made a very sad day much more bearable.
