"No after care"

About: Spire Regency Hospital

My 90 year old mother had a knee replacement in May 2016.

She had a 3 night stay and was subsequently discharged.

The staff were completely disinterested about her after care. I was not offered any advice about after care.

I was advised that her clips should be removed after 2 weeks but when I contacted the district nurses they informed me she needed a referral from the ward she had been in.

I went in person to the ward and asked for a referral letter and was told that they couldn't refer her because she had already been discharged!! Why wasn't she referred by the staff whilst in hospital? I ended up having to remove the clips myself!!

I found that the staff had a very blase attitude and they couldn't wait to get her out of the ward so that they could get the next paying client in.

The whole experience was very harrowing. My mother is now in full time care and is now basically forgotten about.
