I was admitted to Sunderland hospital on 2nd February 2017 for surgery on my prostate. After a short wait at entrance 9 I was transferred to the surgical unit and seen by nurses and an anaesthetist prior to my procedure. My consultant also interviewed me and requested my signature to continue with the operation after explaining the possible problems. Everything was very slick and professional and I felt complete confidence throughout. I had my operation and was moved to Ward 44 to recover overnight. The nursing staff were caring and supportive explaining everything as they went about their work. I couldn't be more grateful to them for their help through a difficult time. My only regret is that the discharge procedure was so quick that I had no time to thank them before being whisked away. However I understand that they are very busy and having patients interrupting is not helpful. Keep up the good work.
