"Day Surgery 2: Amazing experience"

A fantastic experience. The nurses in day surgery 2 were a masterclass in patience and kindness. Watching them work was humbling, they deal with so many stressed people and stressful situations and yet were equally professional and kind to each patient and member of staff. I was automatically put at ease by everyone working at the unit, one nurse was particularly reassuring (I was nervous before the operation). The surgical team were fantastic too, being wheeled into the operating theatre there were friendly faces and jokes. By the time I was anaesthetised the sweaty palms had stopped and I knew I was in good hands. The consultant is unlike any other surgeon or consultant I've met. The consultant is extremely approachable and makes the embarrassing easy to talk about. The consultant listens and has taken all my concerns on board no matter how big or small. World class team all around. It's an experience like this that makes me proud (and extremely thankful) to be British and have access to the NHS.
