"crisis team"

About: Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as the patient),

Every day, every week, every call is a fight with the crisis team. I have been in mental health services since I was a teenager so about almost 10 years. I don’t feel like I have ever been taking seriously by the crisis team. I feel that I’ve been bullied from call-handlers and the phone put down on me even when I have been in distress and I’ve felt like harming myself or worse. I have taken all I can from their service. The past couple of weeks I’ve been in a dark place and have ended up in A&E at least 3 times in 2 weeks. I just need help with how I feel I don’t need judged I already judge myself. The crisis team is in my view in crisis team and that impacts on  us. I have nobody to turn to in times of crisis anymore I feel very alone.

I am sorry to hear that the recent contact that you have had with a Crisis Team has not felt helpful. If you would like to contact me, I would be keen to better understand what would be helpful to you at times of distress, I can be contacted on 0191 213 0151.
