My daughter is coming up to four years old. She has suffered from GLUE ear since birth which has resulted in her speech and development being delayed. It took two years to be referred to The ENT specialists. Even after God knows how many hearing test she did, which all came back with sufficient hearing loss due to the glue ear. After her first appointment which we waited over 6 weeks for they did yet another hearing test. No change, daughter still can't hear properly. We then had to wait for another appointment to speak with a consultant. We opted for grommets (no other test were done, regarding her always having sinus problems ie adenoids) Waited 6 months for grommet to be inserted!! This may have been longer if my daughters pediatrician hadn't wrote a letter to ENT on our behalf. Grommets were inserted in March 2016. Found out at recent hearing test that eventhough her grommets are still in. The glue ear has come back. She now has this along with the infections and sinusitis. I also found out that she had been discharged from ENT into her Gp's care. Why was I not informed of this?. Now I have to wait for my daughter to be referred to ENT again and probably wait another 6 months for grommets/aids. What a waste of time... I don't understand why she was discharged in the first place. Even my GP found this odd. It's not even been a year yet since her operation. (I would like to add though, that at the time of her operation. The staff were absolutely fanatic. They were brilliant with my daughter and the care on the children's ward was first class.). It's the general lack of communication I'm upset about and having to go through the whole process/wait again. Thank you
