"Cleanliness"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Respiratory medicine

The standard of care that my Dad is receiving is fantastic and I have nothing but praise for the staff that are working in understaffed demanding wards . I am however disappointed in the public toilets which are nothing but disgusting . I have been visiting the hospital every day for three weeks and use the toilets on the ground floor as apart from one toilet on the 7th floor this is the only ones I have found . On a regular basis there is no toilet roll , the floor is filthy , no soap in the dispensers and main door handle disgusting . On walking in the main entrance the hand sanitizer with the fancy nurse telling us how important to cleanse has been empty for four days . The lifts are often very dirty . So people traveling in them then bring this dirt onto the ward they are visiting .

I am also disappointed that despite a recorded message at the outside entrance stating this is a non smoking area patients flout the rules with oxygen masks and drips to have a crafty cigarette something needs to be done about this as this does not project a good image of DRI .

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We're pleased that your dad is receiving great care and we'll pass your comments onto the team to make sure we celebrate the great work they are doing. We also appreciate you sharing your concerns about the upkeep of some of the areas in the hospital - your feedback is how we improve. We will make sure we pass your feedback onto the Estates team so this can be looked at.

Thanks

Amy
