"Nightmare situation"

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital / Diabetic medicine

Without going into too much detail I was recently spoken to and ganged up on by two members of staff, one in particular during a routine ante natal diabetic appointment as I have gestational diabetes. This was about a thyroid function test and me self medicating which wasn't why I was there. It was to see my blood glucose levels. The doctors hostility and attitude took me so by surprise that I left shocked and upset and later angry that this happened, was not informed why this extra person was at my appointment, they just followed me and sat down. No permission asked. I am actually really stressed and dreading going to my next clinic appointments and will be taking someone with me next time. They wanted to know details of something I have already in detail discussed with doctors and shown private results for also corresponded with the PALs team over which seems to have made the situation worse. They sat in judgement and gave a ridiculous example of someone who took meds to lose weight! I didn't, I did it to get my health back and had been refused and ignored by the nhs. They then continued to talk about me as I left the room and during the appointment spoke over me, I have also had my past mental health problems as I have had depression in the past questioned and my families history of mental health questioned. I have not had depression for a few years now because I found the cause was hormonal and self medicated before pregnancy, despite being thrown anti depressants for years. I have also had many miscarriages and this is the first pregnancy in years I have carried beyond 12 weeks as the condition I have left unmediated causes fertility problems and non of my many miscarriages were ever investigated. They were really hostile! I will be making an official complaint to the chief executive. I am also seriously considering changing hospitals because all my maternity experiences here have been terrible.
