"Not just A & E thats hopeless"

About: Basildon University Hospital

Had an outpatients appointment which I waited months for as I was having severe abdominal pain and was also suffering from other issues.Attended my appointment on 10 January only to be told that it had been cancelled. I had received no notification of this and the clinic I was attending could not / would not fit me in. The nurses went and retrieved copy of a letter supposedly sent in December which I definitely did not get. On reading this I also noted that I had been discharged with no thought about the other issues which the doctors themselves told me have to be dealt with. I went to the PALS office only to find it closed

The administration at the hospital has completely collapsed.

I later tried to phone the hospital and got no answer. Tried to use the automated system and asked for Rheumatology and got put through to dermatology. tried again no answer. Basildon used to be a reasonable hospital and I can say from experience that the doctors and nurses on the wards do a great job. I have been let down so much by this hospital that I have had to seek private help at the cost of thousands of pounds which I can ill afford.

I have little to no faith that anyone cares about the patients who suffer from things that A & E consider non emergency
