"Disappointing service in Birmingham"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare

(as the patient),

In my experience there are poor standards of cleanliness, no discipline used on unruly patients, poor English skills, no staff ever available, ward staff consistently rude and unhelpful in speech and behavior but Clinical staff was much better. Rules change every couple of days. Clinical staff make an effort to improve services but nursing staff not consistent in changing this institution. I think the presentation of staff is poor: no uniforms etc.

Thank you for your observations about you experiences on the ward. I am sorry that your experience has not been a positive one, and will discuss the general points with the nurse managers in Birmingham.

I would like to be able to give a fuller response to the issues that you have raised, but would need more detail to look into these issues further. You can discuss these further with the nurse manager, or send your observations direct to myself, as Modern Matron for Birmingham.
