I took a friend to A & E after she had suffered a rear end 'shunt' in her car. By the time I had parked and returned to A & E she had been booked in. The booking in staff had quite rightly assessed her as non critical or urgent so we were happy to wait. Whilst we waited she was offered painkillers and they made sure she was comfortable. Just over an hour later she was seen by a very professional doctor who carried out various checks and gave straightforward advice and gave assurance that there was no lasting injury. From arriving to leaving was less than 2 hours. It infuriates me to read papers which say that the NHS is in a 'Humanitarian crisis' as this is obviously not true and can only apply in a very few hospitals. All I can say is that in Derby City Hospital the service and staff were brilliant so well done to you all.
