About: Gedling Children's Centre

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have to voice my opinions about the new procedure for weigh in. although my child is now 10 months old I feel that this is something that should be done by a professional as they are trained and can keep a check on my baby's development. we often are unsure and don't know if we are doing the right thing. I am disappointed that there are no midwifes at play groups, surely this was a great idea as all the midwifes are there and we can ask small questions. I understand that there is a number to call however I feel that this may be a burden. I feel abandoned. Disappointed with weigh in, having to wait for scales, kids can't play whilst waiting. Help!

Thank you for sharing your views. You will be pleased to know that all babies will continue to be seen and weighed at specific intervals by the health visiting team or when the baby has health needs that require a greater frequency. The difference from the past is that it will be on an appointment basis.

If you or any parent in Gedling wants to see their health visitor you can telephone 0115 9935582 to make an appointment.

I am not clear as to the venue you attended from your post but I know there have been some changes made at the Richard Herrod venue today (Friday 13th January 2017) that includes more scales so there will be less queuing.
