After waiting 3 months to get my appointment I attended an ENT appointment on 12th Dec 2016. Staff were all very helpful and kind and performed the hearing tests and two other small balance test with care. However, I was very disappointed in my appointment with the consultant, who didn't bother to listen to my symptoms. I felt that the consultant was rushing and wanted to get me out as quickly as possible. After a short examination the consultant diagnosed vestibular migraine and was advised to keep a food diary. I was given two sheet of info and sent on my way and was informed i'd be seen in 3 months.
I tried to ask questions but felt I was fobbed off and the consultant didn't bother to look at me when I was talking. I have been surfing with vertigo for 4 months and had it on and off for 5 years. After the 3 month wait for the appointment I expected a more detailed explanation of my condition, why had I developed vestibular migraine since having the initial vertigo attack? The possible food triggers listed on the info sheet was vague and I was not offered support to try and find out why or how I had vestibule migraine.I'm very disappointed and stressed as I need to go to work but I'm struggling to do every day tasks.
