Unable to get an ambulance, we were referred to the out of hours doctor. We got to see them about 4 hours after calling 999. The Dr. was very good and immediately referred my wife to A&E. After a while we were taken to Ilchester ward. Here my wife was struggling to breathe, and the excellent care of one of the nurses calmed her down. Unfortunately, another staff member said to her colleague " She's been in here loads of times". Which was not only upsetting , but untrue. The whole process in Ilchester seemed to get my wife discharged as soon as possible. We were very glad when she was transferred to Moreton ward where the staff and treatment were excellent, and my wife stayed for several days unti she was ready for discharge.
