"cancelled minor operation yet other still get..."

About: Royal United Hospital

Was due to have laproscopy due to 5 months of ongoing abdominal pain, op was cancelled on the day about an hour before i was due to arrive, wasnt contacted, i arrived and was told it had been cancelled yet another lady arrived and she was booked straight in? Why did she have hers and i didn't have mine, all i was told is that there wasnt enough beds because a & e was overflowing! So why did the other lady get her op and i didn't get mine! Furious

Thank you for taking the time to provide our hospital with feedback. I am sorry to read that your laparoscopy was cancelled.

It would be difficult for me to comment on the possible reasons behind this situation without some specific information from you, we would be happy to look into this issue.

If you would like us to do so, can I ask you to please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01225 825656 or via email at ruh-tr.PatientAdviceandLiaisonService@nhs.net and a member of the team will take you through the next steps of the process.
