"North Manchester Crumpsall Hospital Ward I5 Review"

About: North Manchester General Hospital / General surgery

For an individual who loves to complain (according to my wife sometimes for the hell of it) I want to thank the brilliant Doctors, Nurses & support Staff at North Manchester General Hospital for the 1st rate service provided. Unable to access my GP (2 week waiting) or the local walk-in centre for some antibiotics to treat the tennis ball size abscess I had developed on my inner thigh close to the family jewels, decided to go to the A&E at North Manchester General Hospital in the hope I would be in & out within a couple of hours, how wrong was I (Stupid!). Once examined the doctors Immediately booked me in for Surgical Procedure to drain the abscess. Admitted into Ward I5 where I was looked after brilliantly by all the staff.

What really impressed me the most was the respect all the young staff showed to a number of elderly gentlemen in their 70's & 80's, they could not do enough for the elderly patients (Well done all) just as I would want for my parents or myself when I get to that age. Ward I5 was modern & nice and clean including the bed which was really comfortable (better then the one I have at home). Having stayed in hospital for 3 days I have learnt that when in hospital trust the Doctors & Nurses, do not complain for the hell of it, cause there are other more critical ill patients in need of priority treatment. Patience is a virture. If I am really pushed to find a complain then it would be possible " improve doctor / nurse communication to Patients" the staff were unable to advise when I would go for surgery, not really sure even this is a valid complain because as I stated above one has show patience because NHS Emergency Surgery demands change by the minute and patient treatment depends on the life threatening seriousness of the illness, as my sister explained an abscess is not life threatening if treated early. I failed to mention I have private medical treatment & I have on 3 other occasions undergone private surgery treatment, I can honestly state the treatment I received from North Manchester General Staff was second to none & was in my opinion better then the Private medical treatment where you are treated as though you are on a conveyor in & out as quick as possible
