"Revelationary care"

About: NHS Highland (Health)

(as the patient),

I took part in an excellent six week course called Well Now, run by NHS Highland and Highland Region which was focusing on self acceptance and well being.

The course was run by two super organisers, Val & Dave, who encouraged us to look at our lifestyle in a non judgemental way. Each week the group looked at health, weight and lifestyle from a different perspective. The content was very informative without being heavy going and - as a life long, failed dieter, it was a revelation to put self care at the top of my agenda - not necessarily weight loss.

Looking at life with 'WellNow' vision, really changed my way of thinking about work stress/ dieting and the constant cycle of self blame and focus on weight. For all busy people juggling a lot in their lives- this is a really great way to reboot your system. Little changes count!

Dear Samst19

Many thanks for your posting about Well Now. It's a programme that is being very well received and I am really glad it has been a positive experience for you too. Little changes do indeed count. Well done.

I will be sure to pass on your feed-back. Stay well. Maimie
