"First CDU Ward19 experience 24.11.16"

About: Glenfield Hospital / Cardiology

Arrived around 18.30hrs(by ambulance) Thursday 24.11.16 not knowing if my wife had suffered a heart attack. Was quickly seen by nursing staff who carried out several tests, bloods, x ray, bp etc. The environment was very "calming" but thorough. Could not believe how busy the Ward became at times which obviously necessitated patient priority changes to the Doctors lists. In due course one of the junior doctors gave a thorough and clear consultation to Joan which she very much appreciated. We were now into the early hours of the morning. Around 03.00 hrs.we saw the Cardiologist who explained that Joan could be discharged, very good news. We had spent 8.5hrs in the unit, always treated with care and consideration. A long time but we felt we were looked after very well indeed. well done Ward 19, it's good to know you are there. Grahame and Joan.

Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Cardiology at Glenfield Hospital.

We are delighted to hear that your wife was seen so promptly and although you were on the unit for quite a while, the resulting explanation was that she had not had a heart attack and could be discharged, as you say 'very good news'.

We are pleased that you felt 'well looked after'.

Your comments will be forwarded to the teams involved in your wife's care.

Many thanks again and all good wishes for the future, Communications Team, Leicester's Hospitals.
