"Reduced baby movement check"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Maternity

On Tuesday I hadn't felt my baby move since the night before. I rang Heartlands maternity unit, explained I was 31 weeks pregnant and got told to come straight in. The time from phone call to being seen by a midwife, was very quick. I was treated with dignity and respect by everyone on the delivery unit, especially the lovely midwife who treated me and ensured all was well with my baby. They provided exactly the reassurance my husband and myself needed to feel confident that our baby was OK. I cannot speak highly enough of the midwives at Heartlands and I look forward to seeing them again when I give birth.

Dear Anonymous

Thank you very much for your comments regarding your treatment and care at The Princess of Wales Maternity Unit when you experienced reduced baby movement. I'm sure this was a very worrying time for you, and I am pleased to read that from making the call to the team, you were told to come straight in to be seen, which you did, and were seen very quickly by a midwife. I'm sure it was a great relief for both you and your husband to be reassured that all was well with baby.

I will be delighted to share your post with the Senior Management Team for Maternity Services who will ensure that your comments are shared with all of the Maternity Nursing and Clinical Team. Feedback such as yours is very important and also gives our hardworking staff a great boost!

I hope my actions are acceptable and once again thank you for taking the time to provide your comments, patient feedback is very valuable.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
