About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

I was treated on ward 21 for cataract removal I was very pleased with all the staff and treatment I received just one let down I had watched the nurses giving there discharge talk explaining about after care and any problems .I was discharged by someone who took all of 10 seconds to give me paper work and tell me use drops four times a day that was it . Luckily I had been listening to other people discharges to find out more infor. I understand thst staff have to learn but bedside manner is a big part of there training so hope this person gets better with the discharge patter .That aside my whole overall of my visit was very pleasant and will feel at ease coming back for getting my other eye done thank you to all the kind staff on ward 21

May we take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on NHS Choices and thank the Directorate for the care and treatment you received whilst on Ophthalmology ward 21, RVI.

It is always good to get positive feedback from patients when things have gone well, however we are sorry to hear that the discharge process was not to our usual standard. Your feedback is invaluable to us and has been used to remind the staff nurse who discharged you of the importance of complying with the set process to ensure optimum care. We are pleased to hear that despite this, you feel at ease about a potential future visit to our department and hope that you experience a more complete discharge.
