My wife had to attend an appointment in the Eye Department recently and she was filled with dread because of the long waits that plague this department. She was delighted to fing that she hardly had sat down when she was called for her initial eye-test and then only had to wait 5 minutes to have a retina scan. We were then taken to the waiting area to see the doctor to discuss the results. After only 15 minutes we were called to be seen by a charming young doctor who explained everything clearly and carefully. We left the department after only 1 hour. A delight. why can't it be like that every day. Just one other thing - we deliberaletly arrived very late for our appointment to minimise the waiting and it worked a treat, it vindicated my theory that patients are generally called in far too early for the amount of doctors available to see them.
