What I liked

I was admitted as an emergency and treated in the most caring professional manner. The staff on Brockham Ward could not have done more for me. I felt very afraid and everybody without exception took the time and trouble to reassure me in my hour of need. The day and evening staff were worked off their feet daily but you would never have known. Whether it was pain relief or a glass of water my every need was taken care of in a kind and caring way. I think all the staff do their utmost in what is sometimes a highly stressed and stretched situation. I once needed a change of dressing and owing to a shortage of the required high standard of dressing my wound needed the Sister ran down to theartre to get it for me. I cannot praise everyone of the nurses who work on Brockham Ward highly enough. They are a shining example of the NHS at its very best. Thankyou everyone.

What could be improved

With budgets being tight I feel cutbacks are sometimes made in the wrong places.. Sister should not have had to make a sprint to theatre to get what is needed to do the job. I know this probably happens a lot and its only the dedication of the staff that saves the situation.

Anything else?

What ever anybody says we have an excellent professional staff at East Surrey Hospital a shining example of the NHS at its best.I cannot recommend them highly enough.
