"The patient does not come first"

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

The health service is still bureaucratic and inefficient. I am not allowed to have my operation when convenient to me. It was not time critical and I was prepared to wait until January letting others with more pressing needs have their operation. A date was agreed with the doctor but when then referred to the nurse because it was outside the 18 weeks it was not allowed under any circumstances. Government statistics are obviously are more important. It is now up to me to contact them again in December. I can not transfer to an alternative hospital without another referral from the doctor.
